mk1 tailored car cover with lock !!

just got an accessories catalogue from the states it lists and shows a picture of a tailored car cover for the mk1. it comes with a locking understrap (small padlock supplied ). Anyone seen one, got one or want to let me have one ?

There was one on ebay about a year ago, I think it went for ~£200

Whilst not a tailor made one I ended up getting one of these -

Probably not quite as good as tailor made ones and not a perfect fit as a result but a fair bit cheaper when I was looking (think SS was the size I ordered) and have been quite pleased with it so far, seems to be similar stuff to goretex and has sort of quick release clips like what is on rucksacks that connect the straps under the car to secure it.

I'd put good money on Mike Sheavils having one (at the very least) I could be wrong but he may have outbid me on one last year. I think they come in their own holdall too

I bought a cover from the NEC - it fits really well and has 2 straps underneath where, if you want, you can add padlocks.
it cost £80

if interested let me know and i will look for the maker

I remember seeing a mk1 mr2 cover a while back on ebay, it even fitted around the wing mirrors.

We have a custom cover for a mk1. Mark got it from the US. Its completely tailor made with mirror pods and the like. There isn't a 'lock' on it though.

Mind you i guess a lock is about as useful as putting a padlock on a tent.

He never uses it.

yea, i have a Wolf one i purchased from JC Whitney, it has eyelets for an understrap but one didn't come with it...

it's fully fitted around the spoiler, mirrors etc so fits perfectly

There was one on eBay US a couple of months ago, grey jobbie (genuine) I was hoping to nick it as he didn't put up that its was a taliored one, he eventually did & the price rocketed out of my range.

Its white, fully waterproof and breathable, 2 straps underneath (front and rear) theat clip together (could be locked if needed).
I fold my mirrors which is no great trouble, and its designed for a sports car shape with a spoiler.
