[Mk2] [Turbo] keyed!

Post by boosch »

anyone had their keyed bodywork sorted for cheap as chips?

some little tLIrds scratched up the rear offside quarter panel to the primer and the roof behind the t-bar.

perhaps its best to use a colour code MrT pen and fill in, then T-cut polish it back?? any ideas??

I had my rear spoiler keyed straight through the primer into the material side to side the day after I had my car resprayed so I know your pain :( Most bodyshops wont charge the earth to put it right chap but if the damage is over metalwork I'd personally prefer to get it sorted professionally...

T cut only really? I would avoid using a filler pen as it will just blob.

Worse case get the panel resprayed

Dudes, that sucks   =; [-( ](*,)

Is your paint metallic or not? If it is then I don't know. Also if its gone through the primer then be careful as Matt says.

If its normal cellulose with no lacquer then you can use a pen/small brush, put it on thickly in a few layers so its pround of the surrounding paintwork and leave to dry fully - probably 24 hours. Then use some 1500 wet and dry to remove the excess back down to the surrounding level. Since the wet and dry is so fine you should only remove the excess and it shouldn't remove any or little of the existing paint. Just be a bit careful and remember to use plenty of water on the wet and dry!

One you've used the 1500, t'cut and then polish and wax 8)

I've done this before and it worked although was on metallic so didn't look as good as it could have done due to the lacquer.

If you can just try on a small area first just to make sure it works for you.

Oh and when you use the wet and dry, try to use a sanding block or similar to get an even finish... rub lightly!

Yep, I have some annoying little stone chips on the front bumper/bonnet that could do with a touch up. I will check out the price for a pro to try first too! Thanks for the advice!

I suppose its best I dont find out who did it!

Insurance is pretty pants really and funnily enough third and fire, as i didnt have the extra ton kicking around to make it fully comp - I know I know - worth the pennies.

I have the bits but i'd rather take them back to halfrauds...getting a quote from chipsaway.

Staked / came back late, sat there for half an hour at 3 am eviling everyone that passed; made me a very depressed and angry person so i thought i would be more productive asleep!

The worst part is fear of parking in the same place - then they win right?

I have the answer...
