Ok, here goes...

Started the car the other morning and the idle started to hunt from between 1400 rpm to around 1600 rpm. Normally, this would be caused by either a vacuum leak from somewhere behind the throttle body, or a dicky throttle position sensor.

Ripped the car to pieces this morning (again, as I thought I'd sorted it the other night), and checked every vacuum hose there is on the car. Also connected the laptop up to the MoTeC to check the TPS and the MAP sensor. Both check out ok.

Andi has suggested checking the fuel supply pipe to the FPR, and to give the pipe a squeeze to increase the pressure (he thinks it could be running a little lean around idle). Failing that, I'll give the vacuum pipe to the FPR another look over to see if it's holed somewhere I haven't noticed.

Answers on a postcard guys...

BTW. I'll be there for 8, and I live just outside Cardiff.

Well, looks like I'll be there with the car, but I won't be running (not unless someone comes up with an answer to the problem, or one of the guys from Western is willing to take a look for me).

It's still hunting like crazy, and definately feels down on boost. It also seems like the chargecooler core is leaking slightly into the inlet, as the surge tank is losing coolant after a couple of days, and the oil I changed today was full of mayonaise. :(

Ho hum... it's all set to try us. ](*,)

I'll be there with my trusty camera though, and my son will be using a video camera to film the runs as well.

See you all tomorrow.

Will definately be there, meet you at McDonalds but after my run I won't be able to hang around long as I've got a potential purchaser coming to look at my TTE Turbo'd Roadster later in the morning. :D

Earl,

I had the same problem with my radtec core, was losing coolant into the inlet. Sent it back to radtec/rogue and it pressure tested out ok? Patrick sent me another core and touch wood its been fine since.

Superb pic Dave!

Had a fantastic day, which culminated with the Beast making 451.9bhp and 359lb/ft of torque on the rollers. Well chuffed! A testement to Andi Martin's engine building prowess. I think it shocked a few people. :thumleft:

Massive thanks to Patrick and the guys at Rogue, for swapping out the CC core and resolving the vacuum issue this morning, just a shame my Tom Tom went haywire on the way back to Western Performance, and I lost Patrick on the motorway!

Sorry bud. I owe you one. Tell Matt, I'll be up in a couple of weeks for him to take a look at that vibration.

Great to meet everyone (some from before, and some new peeps). Superb bunch. Thoroghly enjoyed myself, and my son was extatic with the result. Spent most of the trip home phoning his mates to tell them.

I'll scan the dyno sheet when I get back to my house, and stick it up for the non believers to take a look at. :eye:

See ya'll soon,

EarL.

Had great fun from start to end.

Gotta say Earl =D>
That is an amazing piece of automotive engineering.
And the Noise!! I always thought my car was noisey!!!! The ground bloody trembles!!!

My figure for the day: 258.8 hp. \:D/
With only an exhaust i was well chuffed.

Keep it up guys and roll on the next one.

(by the way im mr-s from the oc, but couldn't get the name on here  )

Earl, that cars an absolute animal mate, and it definately sounds as good as it goes. Fair play!

My '2' managed to pull 303.4BHP, with 308ftlb of torque, with standard management and 1.1 bar of boost. Well happy with that \:D/

Redeye (Dave) did you get the PFC sorted mate?

Thanks for all those who came, it was great organising it and meeting new people and some old friends,

Spudfromengland - sorry you couldn't make it, it would have been great to have seen your beast to run on the dyno, but patrick did relay your message across in the morning.

I was disappoined by some people who had confirmed as attending and did not turn up nor did they let me know if they were going to come or not. A recommendation for people organising it in the future would be to take sizable deposits just to confirm peoples commitments to these events.

Disappointed with my car, but it's staying at Weston until the power fc is mapped and i get some sizeable gains,

most of all, people please get ypur pics up, it was a great event and we should show it off =D>

Did you get a run in the end Salim?? If so, what power figure did you get?

Can we get a copy of the video footage recorded at Weston Performance on that computer?
