My Rev 3?

Post by bri0905 »

Hello,
Some of you may have read my post a while back in the general section, i was the lucky one who's been given a 1996 rev3 turbo!!! :D :D
When my dad bought the car it seemed in very good condition, with air con half leather seats and aftermarket 17" alloys. We soon found problems though, the garage had fitted a new recon turbo it being a rev 2 ct26 it wasn't running terribly well. We sourced a rev 3 c20 turbo and swapped them over, but it still has issues.
Alot of this is why he has given it to me he's owned it for 4 years and enjoyed it albeit not to it's full potential. He didn't want t sell it with problems mainly cos he wouldn't have got what it was worth. So below are some pictures of my starting point in MR2 ownership. As you will see it's a bit filthy, this is the downside to living in the country during the winter.

It's due a cambelt change at 60000 and it's on 54000 now so iwas thinking of pulling the engine to do all that and give it all a good clean then. It is a bit muddy/leafy!!

You sure bout that? Cambelt should be changed every 60,000 miles, or 5 years - whichever is sooner...the car is 11 years old...
