It'd be great to meet up on a regular basis (monthly?), and I think someone was suggesting Santa Pod as a possible meeting point for the next one.

We've already spoken to the guys at '1320 Autos' about doing a rolling road shootout & barbeque in the summer, too, so that could be a runner if enough people are interested.

They are based near St Neots in the middle of the countryside, it was quite hard to find initially. It's a basic set up at the moment but the chaps are working hard to get the place together.

The chap that works there (Chris) is part of the Fireforce one jet car team at the Pod. He certainly knows his stuff and is an all round top bloke. I think the run was £30.

Here's a you tube link to our run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RrUMYwxuIy8

We were really impressed with 1320 Autos when Kloot and I went for our power runs there. The guys kept apologising for the state of the place (they're in the process of changing the site from a scrapyard to their garage/rolling road centre), but we couldn't give a monkeys as their knowledge is spot-on!

As Kev (Kloot) says, Chris is part of the Fireforce jet car team, and has also worked in Formula One (Cosworth) so certainly knows his onions and as a bonus, is a top bloke too.

We paid £30 each for three power runs. Then spent about two hours talking to the guys about cars... LOL

sorry we couldn't make it, and in the end we didn't even get on track as the bloomin car developed an oil leak on way to track.
we had a great day passengering and spectating, so not a waste of time.

It would be good to try and make another northants meet though.

You're more than welcome to come along to the next one, as it's always good to meet new bods and their MR2s. I was hoping some of the Concrete Cows crew would've turned up at the last one, but plenty of opportunity in the future!
