[Mk2] [Turbo] Nervous!

Post by cantfindausername »

Its finally come to the time where my car is ready to get MOT'd.

I'm bricking it at the moment.

Its been a mad rush over the last 3 nights to get the engine back into the car and get everything hooked up.

This will be the first MOT in 3 years, and the first time the car has been on the road in 2 years!!

Wish me luck!! :thumleft:

Well it was cut very tight.... and we didn't make it. We couldn't select a gear. Fact of the matter is, the stock master cylinder is so pussy in comparison to what is actually needed with this clutch. I haave been able to get some engagment to select first, but it is very clunky, so I'm not overly happy.

Also when I did start to move it forward, I noticed the temp gauge was on 3/4

So its back to the drawing board.

Managed to sort out the over heating. There was a massive (aprx. 2 ltrs) air lock in the system. So this has all bled out nicely. The temp is now sitting constant at just under half. A little lower than normal due to the TRD Stat.

Some other teething problems that we sorted, and some that we haven't figured out yet. Full update will be on my site tonight.

All in all, it was a tall order. The engine was on the floor on wednesday, so to get it to a point of being able to drive it on the following saturday was quite an achievement in my eyes. :thumleft:

Cheers Jon. I'm looking at it as another step closer. Got to go talk to my gearbox guy at lunch time to discuss some noised that I'm getting while driving. Not sure wether its the LSD or not. Then need to locate some knocks from the suspension.
