Post by daveparf »

Hi guys! =d> i would like to start with saying thanks to everyone who helped diognose the knock sensor =d> i now have a new problem for you all, now the car is running it starts fine but it keeps playing up when im driving it, when its running ok i can boot it and it holds back until 3500 rpm then pulls hard like it should, until i change gear then it loses all its power and the exhaust nois gets louder but the turbo whistles like hell and has no loss of boost also my turbo timer has stopped working cheers dave

loads of boost no power right , the turbo is mechanicial loads of throttle @3500rpm loads of heat loads of spool, it will spin by its self it is'nt controlled by any ecm/sensor,

1) Does the car become un reponsive to gear down still no power ???
2) do you smell strong fuel???
3) any TC trouble codes

What I belive is you must be losing Ignition or fuel or both by the ecu going into limp mode PANIC what rev is your 2

Knock sensor.

Make sure you replace it with a genuine Toyota item unless you're running aftermarket engine management in which case I'd recommend Bosch.
