 :D

I have atleast 100+ recipts and full service history for this vehicle and it looks like its been looked after. £700

It did pop out of 5th twice on a 80mile drive when giving it abit and then releasing the accelerator. But the gearbox feels very solid. Any reason for this.

Anyway this is my second 2 and im planning on keeping this one.

Oh and the Rimstock Pro Race Lightweight wheels maybe for sale soon, as ill be getting Standards :thumleft:

I'm not sure about your gear problem mate but I thought I'd be the first to say congrats on the purchase! If it's in decent order you got yourself a bargain there :thumleft:

MK1 Na's suffer the problem of 5th gear pop out.

The dog teeth on the hub wear basically becoming rounded off so that 5th eventually no longer engages.

Changing the gear set will solve it (by this i mean changing 5th gear, its very easy to get at luckily and can be done in situ no problem).. though your issue could equally be a linkage problem, ie you aren't engaging 5th properly. I say this because i haven't heard of this problem on the mk2, though its well documented and very common on 100K+ Mk1s.
