[Mk2] [NA] Crunching when changing Gear....

Went to see a real nice Mr2 Mk2 Rev1 NA. Except one problem it crunches when down selecting a gear going from 3rd to 2nd. Is this new Gearbox time??

Clutch seems quite high also.

If so how much to get changed roughly?

had this on a couple of previous mr2's. snycro's have gone.....best off either knocking him down £600 or steering clear.

worse way, gearbox off, rebuild, now clutch and re-fit up to £600

i got a second hand box from a mr2 breaker on here, but now fifth gear is a little whiney, not a big deal, but i paid £250 for the box. you paid you money and take your chances with secondhand stuff.

so if you can source one for peanuts and do the work yourself, then cool.

how much is he offereing for the rev1 ?

i used to have similair problem.. 2nd gear was very hard to make and transition from 3rd to 2nd was impossible without double clutch push

diagnosis:

gearbox leak.. oil has runned out and 2nd defect was leak from clutch hose (fluid was running out and clutch had too low pressure)

thankfully i've reacted immediately so gerabox has no time to broke
