With the help of a few people, we changed the cam timing cos I got it sooooo wrong, and it fired up almost instantly!!!
I'M SO F*CKING CHUFFED!!! I can't explain the feeling I've got inside me right me!
Going for a much needed beer now.

Hows the halfords treacle type oil settling in???? I asume you only need it to bed the pistons in for 500 miles or so??? To then put in some proper synthetic stuff

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ITS ALIVE!!! (yes I'm shouting!!)
Thanks guys!!
I'm am so happy about it. I've got to get a firewire cable today so I can hook the video up to my lappy and get to editing it, but give me a few days and it will be up. Should have called in sick today and done it then, but hadn't thought of that till now
I'm really pleased at how it sounds. It revs like a motorbike, its so responsive. We hit 4k and back to tick over almost instantly.
I've never been so paniced in my life! The entire time it was running I was shitting myself and was a complete nervous wreck.
Now if I can get this damn clutch bled properly I can take it for a spin and MOT it

Well done Ant
I know what you're feeling mate. It's a glorious moment when it fires for the first time. I'm looking forward to Andi giving me the all clear (any day now) so I can drive mine back from Hastings to South Wales. Should be a right giggle
Congrats mate.

Yeah its is a hell of a feeling alright! I'm still shocked at how it just burst straight into life. No chugging, no huffing, just about 2 turns of the starter and BAM off it went!
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] ITS ALIVE!!! (yes I'm shouting!!)
What ECU are you using Ant?

stockola.
Have kept the engine ancilaries as stock as possible for the run in.
Got stock CT26, Stock intake/exhaust manifolds, Stock guttted DP, Stock injectors and fuelling and ECU. XS Power I/C and thats about it really.
Have used my gutted and modified TVIS though. And all uprated internals... including my moody cams

Alot of big stuff... but as for the ECU, I'm still out for info on that one.
Got a few recommendations, but want to do a few comparisons of spec, see who can tune what, visit a few places, chat to people that sort of thing.
Need to clear a few bits of plastic before I go spending on the next stage too
