gearbox problem

accelerating hard in third,clutch in and then into forth,clutch out and gear poping into neutral..every other gear change is fine.somtimes you can engage fourth gear and if it goes in then it stays there no problem.removing engine shortly as to add several upgrades so ny advice on how this could be fixed and what is wrong would be gratefully received,many thanks

phome rouge and ask to speak to technical i called them yesterday about the same thing very helpfull guys know there stuff, he said they have a 520rwhp mr2 on a std gearbox so they can handel the power, have a look at there website they do recond boxs for £550 incl vat or will rebuild your box for £350 + vat but parts are on top so better off getting a referbd box for £550

Those prices are extremely high.

I got mine done for 405 and that included most of the bearings.

The gearboxes are strong on these cars, but the sychros are weak. Sounds like it could be selector fork problem.

I would ring a few gearbox specialists, and explain the problem, and also get prices from them.
