What would you like to see in MR2 Only Mag?

Post by steveybMR2-173 »

Hey guys and gals, in only a few weeks issue two of MR2 Only Mag will be posted out to subscribers, full again with some great MR2 stuff from around the various MR2 communities of the world, and some great feature cars.

We are now planning ahead, and are inundated with great feature cars for at least a years worth of magazines, modded, unmodded, usual and unusual!

What we are always looking for is new ideas, from you guys the readers, so we make sure we get stuff that interests you, couple of ideas we have for next year are:-

Monster MR2s - a rolling road day, with half a dozen or so 500bhp + MR2s with full report and review.
MR2 in the Drift league - we have found a Euro guy with a MR2 built for drifting
Airstrip shoot out day - Possibly Bruntingthorpe, get a big crowd of mixed Mr2s for some timing and a massive photoshoot
Nurburgring trip - itinerary in the making - again excellent photo opp!
Engine swap comparison for the mk1 - turbo and V6 go head to head.
MR2 Evolution - we would like to feature a totally standard mk1, mk2 and a roadster in a road test style review of how the MR2 has evolved in the last 22 years

Just a few... either put your ideas here, or email [email protected]

My car.

A few excellent suggestions there Steve. The dyno day for the big boys would certainly go down well, as would the Brunters day. I'd certainly be up for both.

Really looking forward to the next issue. The last one has been read to death mate...

I think you're doing a pretty good job already TBH. I'd like to see more of the stunning cars sometimes seen abroad ...

how about a "europe" edition - covering mr2's on the continent ?

Coverage of mr2's in motorsport is a must.

oh, and it's not a car mag unless some girls have their boobs out.

Ha ha, you should see some of the calender contenders I had to censor, on slipped through that we considered tasteful if you look closely!

Since issue two we have opened up lots of doors abroad, in Europe, US and Japan, so the mags are being sent and read out there, and in turn we get to feature some awesome MR2s from the States, Europe and Japan, infact issue two has MR2s from all of the above!

Always be some MR2 involved Motorsport stuff in there too, with issue three possibly having a feature on a German MR2 built for drifting, wouldnt think it possible being mid engined and all!

Cheers for the feedback, much appreciated =D>

why not do articles on the specialists? ie rogue, tb, 3s etc
see what projects they're working on.

also the mr2 challenge could fill a few pages, pics of the cars are always interesting, laptimes and championship standings.

and some boobs

that and some sort of tip section.

The mr2 is tricky to work on at times and hints and tips would be good

yes all good stuff again and noted, im seeing loads of technical requests, which is good!

In issue three (end of Jan) we are hoping to do our first spotlight on a well known MR2 specialist, already spoken about that one, and again a great idea

I'll second the technical idea. That is one of the things I enjoy about Jap Performance and the like.

Good ideas though. =D>

Yes we are hoping to follow the MR2 Challenge next season more closely, and finances permitting even participating, although Kif Hopkins produces an excellent publication it would be nice to cover it in MR2 Only for the world to see!

More technical stuff on the way guys, from some excellent contributors!

Just back from our issue two cover car photoshoot at a disused factory, going to look mint! two hours of freezing me bits of, but well worth it!!

Just remembered that theres a couple of real TRDs in issue two that were at the Jap mountain meet, with their stainless plaques on, awesome!!

As of issue three we would like to give some space in the mag for owners clu for whatever they would like to contribute, could be event report, funnies, whats on, or just made up of little articles :D

Sounds daft & silly, but a last page of "other stuff" all the silly junk you get up to during the month, a simple joke (risque is good  ) silly potoshops, etc, quite a few mags do this & it jus adds a little humour.

In fact, a photoshop page would be quite good, for all the world to see what other's have as ideas etc, be good to see what the yanks & aussies have a mental ideas of things you can't actually buy if that makes sense
