Just so everyone is aware, UK spec MK2's need to have a large amount of metal cut away from the head lamp level pivot flange. Whilst this has no effect on the headlamps overall strength/construction it is fecking awkward to get at. I used a dremel and xxxx loads of cutting discs.

Hi Anthony thanks for your enquiry about the raybrigs,
you would need to speak to Trevor he will be back at work on Wed 1st Nov.
but I think that is the best price we could do because we had new stock in
and they cost us more but we kept them at the old price.
but give him a call anyway 01579 383879
Mon-Fri 8:30-5:30

I will call wednesday as requested to investigate further.

I'd be up for the group buy if they looked the part.

From what I've seen on the gt4oc, they are a serious improvement over the OEM st185 lights (basically the same as MR2 lights)

Every single person who bought/fitted them said they offered a much better level of light output than the standard lights.

Ok spoke to them and the best there isn't a lot they can do because they're still honouring the advertised price, even though their unit cost was higher on this stock.

He said that if a bulk purchase was made, then he could send them out to a single delivery point to be distributed at cost from there. Obviously organised by whoever is setting this up.

Or they can post each set out to the individuals at £10 per set.

As for a discount, they could do a litte, but he couldn't give me a firm number.

Looking at courier services, it looks like parcel2go would be cheapest, but even that is £12odd after VAT.

So, would probs be better if a single purchase was made with individual delivery being made at £10 each from the supplier. This way we would get a small discount on the parts.

Or if the discount isn't that great, which I'm suspeciting it won't be, then people could just order up as and when they want them. I doubt you'll be saving much by entering into this group buy.

Any other suppliers people can think of?

So what's special about these then? Is it just the optical design of the lens? Or does it come with a different power loom and bulb too?

Just trying to figure out how they are better and why...

Are the lenses made from plastic as opposed to glass?

so what do you get for your money, in terms of parts?

If the lenses are acrylic they'll get tatty very quickly, just curious...

no idea. Personally I'm not a fan of low rise lights so these will be going on mine in the near future.

I've had a set on mine for 2 years now. They use reflector optics instead of lense optics, so they throw a strong and very precise beam. The lens is plastic and they still look like new. Worth noting they are Made in Japan by Stanley Co... akin to Hella in Europe. My Avensis uses the same technology and materials so if Toyota fit 'em OE I doubt the lense will ever go all wanky TBH

Whilst they make a marked improvement over stock I recently added a Gas discharge HID conversion... Bright is an understatement

The guy who did the GB on MR2oc was sourcing direct from Japan... why not have a little search there and PM the organiser?
