Another wheels question!
I'm in the process of changing my wheels to 15'' ones. The originals are 6'' wide and the new ones are 6.5'' wide. Will the wheel bolts be long enough to attach the nuts to with this new size? Does anyone know before I start this!! Help much appreciated.
Re: Another wheels question!
whether or not the old nuts will fit does not depend on the size of the new wheels ,it depends on whether the new wheels have the same centres as the old wheels ,that is the flat centre where the nuts seat ---the originals seat on the flat washer, but some wheels need a nut with a tapered end.
bit difficult to explain--hopefully someone with more experience than me will reply --i assume you didn't get any nuts with the new wheels.

Make sure you get the correct wheelbolts with your new alloys, dude: matter of life and death..!
The retailer should also be able to sell you the right bolts: only use the original bolts if you're sure they are the correct seating type.

Re: Another wheels question!
I actually bought x16 shiny tapered nuts (for modern alloys) from Guppa-P alloy specialist in plymouth a month or so ago(never used them).. ended up leaving my standard wheels on the car though so have them for sale if required. (purchased them for £24 and still have recipt).
DONT PUT THE WRONG NUTS ON -- very very dangerous!!!
what alloys have you got? + have you the correct spigiot rings for them in required?

Re: Another wheels question!
As above regarding flat or tapered face on the bolt. Lengthwise they will be OK as the thickness of the wheelhub will be the same irrespective of the rim width.
