Went to see my local Toyman today to find out the cost of everything required to carry out a Rev3 rear light conversion to my Rev2. This includes the 2 rear light units, 2 repeaters, looms, bulbs fixing kit, centre panel + reversing lights, MR2 logo and new lock assembly, etc. and it is all still available so cannot be classed as 'Rare'.

Probably best not to advertise the cost of this lot, but suffice to add that in my opinion a secondhand lot, including everything above, all in pristine condition with no dulling of the lens or cracks of course should never exceed an absolutely top price of £190. On top of this of course you have to add the cost of colour coding the rear panel to the paint on your car, for not many post 93 cars had the same paint code as pre 94 cars.

That's how I see it, anyway. I would refuse to pay more.

Well, according my dealer today it's quite a wadge less than £450 including VAT - hence my valuation of secondhand at £190.

I believe there's a myth that they cost more new than is the case, and I'm talking about full retail prices, not trade.

Yeah depends which Toyota you go to. I remember someone phoning round a few Toyota dealers and the most expensive was £463! IIRC

Hi,

How come you can't post the price you were quoted in this thread?

It's not like you're an affiliate pushing your wares, it's just a price from a Toyota dealer, you don't even have to say which one....

Were the lights you were quoted on the UK spec or the JDM models as I believe there is a difference, something to do with the reflectors I think?

I've very interested in this as I'm looking for a new D/S light unit but it is going to have to be a new one to match the condition of the N/S unit.

If you can't/don't want to post the prices in the thread please could you also PM me? [-o< :-$

Thanks,

Nik

Got myself a set of S/H Rev3 rear lights, complete with all the wiring looms and bulbs, a centre panel complete with reverse lights, MR2 logo and cylinder lock. In fact the whole lot in absolutely outstanding condition !
No fancy Toyota prices, No messing about with fancy eBay prices and No purchasing from abroad where they may or may not be UK legal and you're still left to buy a lock and logo costing a further £44+. Then of course there's also the possibility you may have to pay heavy import duties to the customs man.
Try International Car Spares on 0161 626 4367 - They're specialist in breaking Japanese vehicles and are very helpful. They also do a next day delivery service.
They may be out of stock now but they are worth waiting for.
And the price? £130 + VAT. Not bad ?

Hi I called about 9 MRT dealerships a while ago (i was v v v bored) for prices on this, and the prices varied a fair bit, but on average your looking at aprox £320 quid inc VAT thats with a un painted centre panel, reversing lamps inc wiring, both clusters and both side markers etc. Ill get the prices i got posted up for you but they are about 8 months old now! :D
