aerial removal

hi there
could anybody tell me how you
remove the aerial i have undone
the moutain nut disconected the
aerial cable and uncoupled the
wireing plug but dosnt seem
to want to come free of the
inner wing do you just yank it
out now

There are 2 nuts you have to undo - the castle nut on the outside (outer wing) and the nut that holds the aerial to the bracket on the inside (boot).

I wouldn't yank it until you have undone both the nuts.

hi mate
just been out to my car and
had another look cannot see
another nut on the outer wing
where it comes through
the rear spoiler theres just the
rubber boot which seems to be
permanently attached to the spoiler

I have a Rev 3 and there is a castle nut holding the aerial in place on the outside. It has kinda turret like features on it.

I thought all aerials where held on the same way. I got one from a guy with a Rev 2 and it was the same kind of fixing. Maybe someone can clear that up. :-k

I'll have a look for a picture to see if you recognise it.

The last page shows a side on picture of the "castle" nut. Its the top right hand item on page 17.

I'm assuming you have a Mk2?
