Hi Guys,
I've just posted this on the FTO forum, thought I'd pop over and share it with you as well.
I have been talking to a guy at 'Route 38' diner today about starting up a Jap meet in their car park. For those who don't know, it's right on the Trerulefoot roundabout on the A38. (www.route38.co.uk)
You may have seen the 'Bluewater' posts on the forum from time to time, well we're trying to create the SW's answer to this. Talking to my other half (Steve Flynn) at the weekend we thought how about combining an FTO and MR2 meet to kick start it?
The guys there are aiming at some point to start their own 'Ace Cafe' style event but are also considering car clubs etc after having Amercian and Veedub events already.
Just want to gauge interest at this stage, whether it would be better mid week or weekend (probs sunday) and any other thoughts?
BTW they do great food

Re: Attn Cornwall/Plymouth/Devon people
We were passing Route 38 on Sunday and they were having a VW meet there. We both thought it would be a good idea to have an FTO or MR2 meet there. We thought about it and thought, "How about a joint FTO and MR2 meet?". Thinking even more "How about a Jap meet?".
Being 2 of the founder members of the Bluewater Jap meets, when there were only half a dozen cars turning up, and the fact that we are really missing doing the Bluewater meet since moving down here, we need to do something in the summer.
What do you guys think?
P.S. It is GOOD food.

Come on you South-West lot. There must be some interest. There are hardly any meets down here. We have found a location that welcomes car meets. You do not have to have an MR2 or FTO. Any jap car is welcome.
Re: Attn Cornwall/Plymouth/Devon people
Id make the effort to travel down, when you thinking of having it?

Keep an eye on this space. We are having discussions with the owner at the moment, so we do not have a confirmed date yet, but things are looking good as he was keen on having an Ace Cafe type regular meet.
Re: Attn Cornwall/Plymouth/Devon people
I've been along to one of these meets before - had a pretty good turn out of VW's.
I'm off there this sunday for a Piston Heads meet. Early start mind.
I'd definitely be up for an MR2/FTO meet

Once we have a confirmed date, we will be posting on as many forums as we can. A bit of "word of mouth" would help. Thats how Bluewater got going.
Re: Attn Cornwall/Plymouth/Devon people
Hi guys
Have you managed to generate much interest in this meet?
