Whats a VSV???

Post by splintermcinnes »

this may sound a bit of a newbie question but... whats a VSV, saw it in a thread, it said some thing about limiting the boost in safe mode, and can affect a boost controller - as i have one- i want to know what this thing is, and if its connected

Thanks
Matt

Variable solenoid valve. It's under the inlet manifold. It's an electronic bleed valve.

LOL

It's what i've always known it as. And calling it something different won't affect the car to go wrong. If i'd described it's operation wrong then fair dues.

No worries Paul, misinformation on the level you're talking about is just dangerous yes. =;

And it's a solenoid valve which is electrically variable so it's not strictly incorrect. :wink: :eye:

yeh, dont matter if it was called a veilside side vomit, still wont effect what is actually does and you cant exactly "upgrade" it either.

No, it IS a variable solenoid valve, it's just in this case that's not what it stands for. I'll settle for half wrong. :P
