Mixture screw

Have just tried adjusting my mixture screw and it just turns freely without stopping. I figured that this is not good, so i have got a replacement from the scrappy. Only problem is that the connectors are different between the Mk1a and Mk1b.

Can i still use this screw on my mk1a, do i just need to cut the wires and solder them to the new connectors, or are they completely different?

chris whats the serial number on the original i may well have a unit you could have.
