carpet to cover speaker boxes

Hello,

Just thinking of making shelves to replace the old standard sub and place something else there (yet to be decided). Only question is, where do you get carpet to cover them from?

Most car audio shops should have offcuts of acoustic cloth big enough to do those.

Didn't cost me a penny when I got mine - depends how cheeky you are

Some places will want to sell you a full roll, some will have a few scraps kicking around for pence, others will give it for nothing.....

Hmmm, i know what the local audio places near me are like! They would charge you for a crimped spade connector!!!

I bought some black cloth from a material shop (tried to think of a better description, but failed!). It was about £2.50 per square foot - so loads less than the £25 a roll from Halfrauds.

Not quite as stretchy though, but it hides the speakers when you look in the window, and is thin enough not to muffle the sound. Used a staple gun to cover my MDF speaker holders, but should really have used glue.
