Alloy wheel refurbishment

Post by Polypedates »

Hi there,

I use my Mk1b T-Bar as a daily driver but am attempting a sort of rolling restoration as I go along. I have minimal tools, time or talent though so it is a slow expensive process!

Anyway, I have a second set of pepperpot alloys and I would like to get them refurbished to replace the grotty ones my car currently wears. I have given up ever having enough money to get it done professionally so can anyone point me to a 'how to' guide somewhere? Indeed is it advisable or should I leave well alone?

Cheers

Thanks,

I did a search as I was sure it must have been covered but didn't get anywhere, I used the words 'refurbish' and 'alloy wheels' but got no joy :?

Oh well

Frost.co.uk do a good selection of refurbishment products, worth a look and the prices aren't bad.

Thanks Limey :D

Have ordered the wheel polishing kit and some One Grand Blitz Wax as I've heard great things about it.

If all goes to plan the car could look substantially better this summer \:D/

Might even be tempted to tackle the engine bay!

Could be tempted  I could refurb one set and drive on the other then swap them over.

What do you want for them? (PM me if you prefer 8-[ )

Would that be your rather attractive luminous green set Chris?

Ooh a no brainer - I like those

That will be a deal then :D

When is a good time to drop around - could do 6.30-7.00pm on a weekday or sometime over a weekend?

Cam covers are free. Not sure about the green wheels :-k , although I don't think they'll fit over the callipers I'm getting off Andy.

Weekday evening's fine I'll PM you my address.

I do have a set of battered Mx5 alloys going as well.
