prices for alternator

hi what price am i looking at to buy a new alternator?or iam best getting a reconditioned one?i bought one from a breakers yard last time and it only lasted 5 month.can anyone recommend somewhere to get one from?i have a 1990 g-limited import mk2

i had some alternator troubles ended up buyin a new recon unit from lucas and gave my old one to them, cost me 156incl vat. not the cheapest but with the guarantee was an ok price.

£140-£160 is about right for a fully reconditioned unit.
