Dials going mental?

Post by mr2nut123 »

this morning when my car was cold the idle revs were moving up and down between 1 and 2k quite a bit and the temperature gauge on the right went past half then back to cold again. theres obviously nothing wrong with it but how can i make the dials accurate again, something to do with the ECU?

My mate had a similiar problem on his old mr2. I think it was a bad earth somewhere. I knw on some cars you can grease the speedo cable (if cable driven) and this usually sorts it out.

if you cant get no joy i can call my mate and see what he did to sort it out!

My car does this occasionally too. Sitting at idle the revs and speedo bounces areound for a second or two then settles.

Done it maybe 6 times in the last year.
