Spark plugs....again!!

Post by darrenmr2 »

Hey there just reading all the posts about spark plugs...and ive just bought some champion RC9YCC4 (havent fitted them yet, see 'Changing tubby sparkplugs...HOW?!'... lol) But am now wondering if they are any good? The couple of NGK's i could remove looked quite sooty and also had some kind of orangey tarnish on the ceramic/pot part of the plug (before the threads start, the bit that has the make and model (lol) of the plug on!) Also the gap seemed alot wider than that of the, yet to be put in, champion plugs. So is it ok to just put the champion plugs in as i dont have anything to measure them with and am worried the ones in the car now have a wider gap :? help!

Plug Socket

Post by Cliff »

Feeler gauge mate..

Only around £4 from your local Halfods for peace of mind.

However, can anyone tell me where I can get a 16mm Plug socket from? Nearest I've found is 14mm!!.

That's where I looked..

Only had 14mm in my local Halfods from what I saw, I'll look again.

However, did you buy just a 16mm socket or did you buy a 16mm plug socket tool?
