Hi all,
I've got my Aquamist 1S coming shortly and I'll be installing this myself, but I'd really appreciate any install pics. Be good to see what others have used as a water\meths container, and pump location etc.
Cheers
Matt

Will try and get you pics of mine m8.
Re: Who's got WI ? Care to post a pic of your install ?!?
a 5 litre oil container fits a treat behind the carpet on the drivers side of the boot. Doesnt need securing in........just stays there
The pumps in mine are mounted on the bulkhead between the boot and engine bay.....ill see if i can dig a pic out.

I've got a 5 litre plastic container (screenwash style!) from Halfords, fits in the boot on passenger side behind the carpet, as said above it just stays there, pushes in securely. I have the pumps mounted on bulkhead behind the carpet in the boot and the controller sits alongside the main ECU. I'll grab a couple of pics on phone later.

Thanks all, look forward to pics

I have the Aquamist 1s system, but I have had it set up in 2 different ways. I am using a 1 gallon Junior Dragster fuel cell for the water.
The original way:
(see clear line going to IC hose between IC & TB.)
(the red vac hose in the bottom right corner goes to the water injaction actuator).

Everything else was in the trunk like this:

My current set up:
Pump and actuator in the bottom left of the trunk:

The water reservoir is now in the frunk:

ive got my jet close to the intake and not the intercooler. Its more for detonation control than cooling

Absolutely, but you still have it in the incorrect place.
If you read the aquamist site, you want the nozzle after the intercooler and as far from the throttlebody as possible ... so that the water disperses more evenly.

So Jeff, would you say that my water injection nozzle is in the wrong place then? (Clear pipe on throttle body) It was already installed on the car when i bought it.
Hmmm

I would not say it is in the wrong place.
I would say it is not in the ideal place.
I have seen many MR2 owners place the nozzle there.

Thats where mine is. I was told neat to the throttle body for detonation protection and near to the intercooler for cooling.
Somebody suggested putting 2 smaller nozzles, one near the throttle body and one near the intercooler, to get best of both worlds, just put a t pipe in to split it.

I've yet to fit my WI so I could incorporate this if it's the best way to go...interesting

What the manufacturer says ...
http://www.aquamist.co.uk/rescr/rescr.html
http://www.aquamist.co.uk/rescr/rescr.html
Water jet locations...
13. Where do I place the water jet?
Normally immediately after the intercooler unless the intercooler suffers from heat soaking such as the type that is fitted on top of the engine (Subaru, GTI-R, Toyota Celica and etc).
15. Should the water jet be facing the direction of the in-coming air? Two possible locations, if the jet is to be installed along an induction pipe, point it at 90 degrees to the direction of the air flow. Position the jet furthest away form the throttle body as this will enable better mixing and intercooling properties. If the jet is installed at the end-tank of the intercooler, point the jet in such a way that it has the greatest cavity to accommodate the 90 degree spray pattern.
Re: Who's got WI ? Care to post a pic of your install ?!?
Ive got mine on my HKS intercooler pipe immediately after the intercooler as this is where Aquamist says to place it and they are the expert.
Aparently closer to the t/b is for detonation, after the intercooler is for lower acts.
Its only a matter of 20 inches but I agree with Aquamist, it gives more time for the air and water to mix and for the water to absorb the heat.

Mine is immediately after IC, some people put 1 nozzle before the IC and one after.
Excuse dirt in all the pics, I seriously need to clean the engine bay
Nozzle after IC:
WI ECU and pumps behind carpet in boot:
Close up of both WI pumps:
5 litre plastic container behind carpet on passenger side:

I'm inclined to agree with the 'keep it as far from the inlet as possible' theory, give it a chance to fully soak up the heat in the charge - in my eyes the water/methanol's job is to soak up as much heat as possible - probably a 100 other theories out there though.

This is my two penths worth ! and my jet is just before the throttle body in the alloy pipe this is how fensport run theres and they have tried most things so i went with them.

Its bespoke mate made it with a good friend of mine whos the tig welder. Cant be doing with make do things need to do it right because the boots small enough as it is ! The relay is behind the carpet and the pressure sensor is a perfect fit where the blanking bung is on the end of the inlet manifold, same thread and the lot.
