:-k Hang on a sec..... Why do you need the skyline to back up what you've just said, when your arguements are based round a BMW 325 & an MR2 Turbo with a fantasy wish list??....

Surely the might 325 + 600bhp MR2 monster would be enough??

:-k Who knows in the real world probably a fairly heft trade policy for ALL those cars.... but in his world most likely £200 fully comp from Elephant.co.uk to drive any car in the world upto a value of say 8 million pounds........

Oh dear oh dear!

Even my 600 fazer would leave my Tubby for dead. On the twisties, maybe the car would outperform an inexperienced rider, but not the bike itself.

Did anyone see Rossi at Donnington in the rain? Now thats what a bike can do in the hands of a skilled rider.....bloody increadable!

Anyway, back to the topic, I would get the bike and mod the engine. Just do some overtime at work and have both!!

Triumph = very nice choice. Maybe in a couple of years I will be picking one of these up.

Hmmm...just to chime in here...since i've raced a friend with a few of his bikes (on track of course).

On his ZX6R i went past him at around 130ish MPH after we started at around 70MPH! Maybe put a car on him to about 160MPH!

However, on his R1 i got made a mockery. He literally put bus lengths on me going from a 70MPH start.

My car was around 330BHP at the time, which really isn't enough to keep up with a 600cc bike until you get to 3 figure speeds. My friend with the bikes is a trackday regular. He definately has a few loses screws in his head..nutter!

325i...paaaah, my old FZR400 would annihilate that without breaking a sweat!

i'll challenge anyone on my ducati-i may be a girl but i know how to ride a bike (i know what her limits are)
which at the end of the day is what it boils down to these days! you may have to fastest road car on the planet but if you dont know its limits and respect the car you'll loose hands down.
I've raced my ex (me on his zx636rr and him in his 500+bhp R32GTR and i wiped the floor with him (and yes HE CAN DRIVE WELL!-very well infact) but it also comes down to who has bigger balls!
so if anyone wants a race-the duke will be out next year

If i recall it's a 748?

I won't race (not that stupid / don't have the balls) but an imoc rideout might be in order so i can come and dribble over your bike.

748R...............very nice!!!

I took a 749 out for a test ride earlier in the year, incredible machine. The amount of corner speed you can carry is silly, just hammer into the corner at nearly any speed and keep leaning it over till you get round!! Feels totally different to ride than any Jap machine i've ridden.

They definately aren't made for tall people though, my back, neck and wrists were killing me by the time i got off it (albeit after 3 hours of riding)

lol jon-yeah i have a nack like that...

James-yes it is the most awsome bike i have ever ridden-i've had the pleasure of riding the 998RS and wow-its so worth the 40k price tag!
I'll never go back to jap bikes-for how cheap they are they are excellent, but i'd rather spend that much more and feel like i'm part of my bike as opposed to just sitting on it lol
Ive managed to get the pegd (which are higher than standard) scraping and she still held firm flat out...i honestly dont think you can better the handling of the dukes round corners...and lets face it-anyone can do 180 in a straight line

While that applies to cars, it's 100 fold on a bike. Within minutes of riding i was happy well over the ton but 12 months on i know i'm still so slow in the corners it's comical.

While i always wanted a 916, and now the 999 there's something about the r1sp that just makes me melt. I'd probably try to have sex with one if i ever saw one parked http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/prod ... F-R1SP.jsp

i know the guys who tested that biike and they said-its pretty! lol
it is but for the money they said they would rather buy an italian bike-the R1SP is floppy round corners (not fantastic if your not 110% confident) and generally "loose".
I love the R1's dont get me wrong (if i was gonna buy a jap bike that would be it) but i cannot see the justification on the price for the SP)
Damn sexy looking bike though =P~

Interesting to read. I know the r1 is meant to be one of the more ridable hyperbikes (read floppy) but i always assumed the SP would be the next step up and have something on the italian crew. I'll have to admit i've never had the pleasure of riding a ducati.
