Hello
Can anyone give advice on how to remove an air circulating dump valve and what original part I would need to put it back to stock?
Its a baileys dump valve.
Thanks in advance

You can just buy a blanking plate and run without any kind of BOV at all. Plenty of people doing it including myself. IMO it runs absolutely fine.

Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
Well the old tale is that it can cause damage to the turbo shaft, but seeing as nobody has ever complained about killing a turbo due to not running a bov I'll believe it when I see it.
Plus without a bov you get a cooler noise than those horrible bailieys units.
Another option would be to find someone selling a factory recirc valve and fit that, years ago you could get em for nowt

Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
I'd much rather go to stock, do you happen to know what that would be in terms of part number or name I should for? I presume its as obvious as it sounds 'blow off valve'?
If anyone is selling one please let me know.
When you say blanking plate is that a thing I can actually buy so on ebay or is it a homemade thing?
As you can probably tell I no idea about these things..

I believe xxxx sell them in the UK - When I bought my one I ordered it from the states. I did originally fabricate one from a flat piece of steel and it worked but then I chose to buy a proper one after that's more like a bung.

Thank you I found it on their website, not sure why the name has been removed in your post.
What kind of sound does that make Vs. an air circulating dump valve?

Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
I think the name was automatically adjusted. I seem to remember some history on this forum that's probably long in the past. Anyway let's not get into that.
I've running a blitz induction kit with GT3076R and a Nur Spec. So I can hardly hear the BOV anyway lol. To be honest I don't think the noise is that loud with it blocked off. It will just sound a bit chattery. I like it. I'm also running without a BOV on my 500bhp Evo X. It sounds awesome.

This is what it sounds like

I'd like to try it on mine but the ST205 chargecooler doesn't have an easy way to fit a blanking plate unlike the smic pipes. Like I could put a cap over it but I feel like whatever I do to secure it isn't going to be enough.

Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
Can't you run a silicon hose from the CC core with a bung in it? I'm trying to remember in my head what that setup looks like.

Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
I've got a silicone L piece that attaches to the bov currently. I just thought that the bung wouldn't be secure enough with a jubilee clip on it or summat

You need a bung with a lip at the top to stop it getting sucked in. They are cheap on ebay. I run one on my Evo running big boost at 500bhp and there's no way that thing is getting sucked in or spat out.

Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
I'd really like to go back to the stock setup but not quite sure what to do..
Looking at my setup, I think there is just one missing piece which is this which is a rev 3 engine that I think is stock ...
Anyone know what part this is?
On mine, its gone and a pipe goes from there over to the dump baileys dump valve.
This is what mine looks like:
The blue cable goes over to this bit:
So I assume I can just remove it and put a pipe straight through where the dump valve was, then pipe in that missing piece I mentioned
Any help appreciated

The little thing you are missing is a vacuum transfer valve. 90925-01059
As far as I remember its a 2 way valve, but with some restriction to one direction.
If I understand correctly you want to go back to full stock with the air recirc valve?
Cheers
Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
Ahh brilliant thanks
Yes that's right I want to put it back to stock recirc.
Do you know if there is anything else I would need?

Apart from a small piece of vacuum pipe you don't need anything else.
I would try ask mr-mr2 on flebay for that valve. He is always helpful.
May I ask why are you getting rid of the BOV?
Cheers
Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
I'm not really a fan of the sound it makes and want the car to be close to stock as possible really.
Is that a vacuum to the connect to the vacuum transmitting cable? I was thinking I could use the blue hose that currently goes the baileys dump valve would that be suitable?

Gotcha
Yes, you sure can use the blue hose
Cheers
Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
VTV is essential to the operation of the stock valve, must be connected up as stock to work.
Re: Removing aftermarket dump valve
Thanks for all your help
Just one more thing, to replace the big pipe which currently has the baileys dump valve in it with a straight pipe, does anyone know the diameter and length pipe I would need or if the stock one has a name I can look up?
Thanks again
