much difference going from rev2 to 3? presume id need a rev3 head too?

i thought it was the rev 3 na cams that was an upgrade for a rev1/2 turbo?
Also wasnt it only one of them (cant remember if it was the inlet or exhaust one tho)?

What would be the benifit of putting rev3 cams into a rev2 head?

not an awful lot. You still got the limits of the rev1/2 head.
I looked into this and it just wasnt worth the hassle at the time for me.
It would mean the head would need reshimming etc and mine had just been redone.

Yes they fit, yes they give power gains, yes you would need to check shim clearance as you would with any cam change. Not hard or intensive and just good practice.
Gimme a fair offer and theyre yours - it's one of the last items I have left and could do with another slab of cartridges....
