had a stupid accident yesterday at work, backing the car up only to make way for a delivery driver, like a stupid xxxx i was rushing so left the drivers door open. and as i backed up the gate blew open, and i was lookin in the passenger mirror (cos the wall was on that side) and the drivers door caught the gate and bent forwards , lookin at it the damage is - bent door brackets, easy to getreplaced i take it? the front wing is bent in where it meets the door, but its a smooth bent, so could be pushed out, the worst bit is thedoor is creased at the front, so i think i will need to get a second hand door, can get a bare one for £50 i found out, then if i get it resprayed in its bare shell, then get the body shop to transfer the leather, electrics, glass etc (which i undamaged) from my door and then bolt it on, does that sound like a good plan? dont care hiow much it costs, just wana get it lookin perfect cos the car is mint.
so has anyone else had similar body repairs? how does it look after? and does my plan sound ok? (its a mk 2 95 rev 3 in sunburst red) thanks for any help
p.s. i know i was stupid, very stupid, and i am realy gutted by this
absolutely gutted!

Re: absolutely gutted!
I thought this was going to be a gutted CAT story. Sorry to hear about the damage.
Sounds like you have a plan sorted and it would be the road I go down also. No doubt others on here can give more / better advice

Sorry to hear about it mate but try not to beat yourself up over it. We all make silly mistakes then afterwards curse ourselves for not doing this or that before it happened.
Your plan sounds good might be worth finding out how much the body shop will charge to transplate the new door & all your parts onto your car.
If you could do that yourself it may save you a bit of money, just a thought.
