I spent a chunk of time analysing you car on the way down. It looks fantastic now, everything compliments everything around it perfectly.
Glad to see people got some good photos too. I CBA to lug the camera about so didn't bring it
Cheers mate, and likewise!
I've not been happy with this car for quite some time, as you've probably guessed!
I agree, it looks loads better now, and everything seems to work well. Period '94 features with the addition of a nice set of Enkei wheels and a deeper Aeroware front lip. Done.

Nice work Craig and looks like JAE was fun. I will have to attend one at some point but don't know if it would be in a MR2 as my mates with MX5s would be hopping mad if I ever did JAE and didn't take one of my roadsters!
On a side note the rev3 spoiler works really well. When I was looking to get seriously back into a MR2 I realized a standard Rev3 look with period wheels, lowered was what I wanted so your car ticks my wish list. I particularly like this photo below.

Cheers mate, JAE was fantastic. For me, the cars were a bonus, it was socialising with old mates and kicking back with a few beers that made it for me.
You'll defo have to get yourself there, it's a good laugh. Last time I went was 2012!
Regarding the car, I've not looked back since removing the body kit. I think it looks so much better stock. Maybe it's just me getting older, but I think the mk2 lowered, with a nice set of correctly staggered, flush wheels just works so well.
Plus, the added bonus, is no fitment issues, Everything fits perfectly, as expected from oem parts. I thought about getting a rev 5 spoiler, but I agree with you that the rev 3 spoiler works well, so going to keep the car with the '94 features, aside from an aftermarket front lip of course!

Gee, thanks mate!
Sill sticking with my CT20b though
Re: 1994 MR2 GT turbo T-bar
Right, so the oem+ theme continues!
Next on my Radar was the triple dash pod:
I've totally gone off gauge pods, so it had to go!
There are 3 holes in the dash from where the pod was mounted (2 x mounting bars and a hole for the wiring. In addition to this, there is an outline from the pod pressed into the dash:
I spied a bargain, unmodified, good condition revision 5 UK dash on eBay and got it bought:
With the dash in my possession, and after a lot of chin stubble scratching and umming and arrrring, I set about the arduous task of removing my old dashboard.
I was soon left with this:
I then brought the new dashboard into the garage, and got it fitted.
Seeing as I'd removed the dash pod, I was left with 3 gauges that needed to go somewhere....
I opted for a staggered, angled towards the driver, 3 x 52 mm DIN panel. While at it, I ordered a generic cigarette lighter as my standard one was corroded. It was also not wired up.
Due to the thickness of the dash panel, the lighter would not click in to the plastic surround on the other side of the panel (Almost, but not quite). I mixed up some epoxy resin and gave it 4 contact points to hold it in place perfectly.
Using old factory Toyota wiring, I made up 2 feeds. One for the bulb, and one for the socket.
One illuminated cigarette lighter that works perfectly:
Next, I turned my attention to the lower dash panel that had been butchered. It previously had the Blitz boost controller in the storage space. Where the controller had been bonded, there was a lot of unsightly bond on the outside of the panel.
The panel went in the bin, and I ordered an unmodified one off eBay. I tidied up and removed redundant wiring before fitting the new panel. All I need now is another coin tray, which I've ordered.
Next, I tidied up the loom going to the 3 gauges, and fitted them to the new DIN panel. I needed to modify the brackets for the gauges that clamp them to the panel, as it was too tight to fit all 3 as they were. They were also fouling the DIN slot, so wouldn't fit properly. All gauges and panel fitted securely.
Everything tested and confirmed to be working, and the interior all back together and cleaned:
Much, much better!
With all the rest of the dash back together, and everything working perfectly, I grabbed a beer and fired up the Xbox.....

Nice work on the dashboard. On all my cars bar the yellow one I have bought interior trim, etc. so know where you are coming from on work like this.
Looks better now too (not that it looked bad before!)

Cheers buddy. I don't think I've been happier with the car since I started putting it back to standard. Now tempted with some factory half leather/suede seats!!

Thanks mate, arduous task, but the fruits of the labour have been worth it!

I agree mate, the full orange front lenses would look a lot better. I've always shied away from them due to legality of them, and having to mess about changing them over, come MOT time etc. I don't mind the UK fronts if I'm honest.
Right, with the better half out with some mates, and Destiny 2 servers offline ( ), I decided to turn my attention to my Noble seats!
First off, I gave them a generous application with Autoglym Leather Care Balm with a foam applicator and left to soak in, then buffed them approx 5 mins later with a micro-fibre cloth.
I then used Meguiars back to black on the black plastic harness guides in the headrests, as these were looking a bit tired/faded.
Fruits of my labour:
Another job off the list!

As nice as the half leathers are, they're much heavier than my Noble seats.
Don't really want to add the extra weight to the car.
The Noble seats are also very comfy seats, and being red leather, I feel it's a nice contrast against the black paintwork.

I'd be keeping the Noble seats over standard. Much nicer imo.

Haha Pete. Stop trying to make me spend more money!

Josh - yeah, I'll definitely be keeping the Noble seats over reverting to stock ones. They're awesome seats.
Only downside to them is it's harder to store the T-tops, as they're fixed back, but I can live with that
Now I can't find anything else to do other than save cash and drive it! I say drive it, now that winter's nearly here, it'll be subject to extended periods in the garage on charge getting covered in dust
Re: 1994 MR2 GT turbo T-bar
Tiny update
I decided that because I don't smoke, I'd get a cigarette lighter dust cap to keep the new socket clean and free of crap. Introducing a genuine Audi cigarette lighter blank:
And the second addition, as stated above, another coin tray to complete the dashboard:
Bit of a bland update, but meh
