Is there a way we can tell what threads we have posted in just by looking at the subject?
I tend to miss threads I have posted in becasue I lose them.
Cheers.

Re: Marking threads you have posted in?
You shouldnt have to do a search tho, all forums have an ICON to show you have posted in a thread.
Re: Marking threads you have posted in?
Can you point me to a forum like that....might ask the admin how he handles it.

My forum does this, I handle it by using vBulletin
More seriously though if you have a look at my forum and see anything you like I can supply you with all the binaries to play with.
Re: Marking threads you have posted in?
Main problem is I think I do not fully understand what the request is!!
Michael, just register and started a topic on your board. Beside the topic title I started is the following
Does that main I started the topic or just that it is a new topic.

Re: Marking threads you have posted in?
From what I can work out:
- clicking this jumps you to the first unread message in a thread.
- the dot indicates a thread you are involved in.
- this is a new message indicator - if it had a dot it would mean you were involved in the thread already.
Then you have others to indicate "hot topics" that have had so many views or replies etc etc

We have the first one...
Second one we do not have...
Third one we do...
So guess I need to add the second one.. OK now I understand what is wanted I will look at doing it.

Re: Marking threads you have posted in?
Just checked the site and saw the other one you are talking about
Re: Marking threads you have posted in?
The SQL Server version of the old site would return how many times you had posted in each thread so it could mark it differently if you have posted once, between 1 and 5 times or more than 5 times. It's just a join on the same table when you return the thread list. It kind of went like
SELECT
Message.Blah,
Count(Message_1.MessageID) AS Posts,
Count(Message_2.MessageID) AS MyPosts,
FROM
Message
INNER JOIN Message AS Message_1 ON Message.MessageID = Message_1.RootID
LEFT JOIN Message as Message_2 ON Message_1.MessageID = Message_2.MessageID AND Message_2.MemberID = @MemberID
So you join the same table onto itself for the total post count (if you want/need it) and for posts that member is involved in.
