Great job!
Re: David's Mitsubishi Evo 6 Import
That's lovely
If you like spotless and meticulously maintained engine bays - check out Jay Bryan (@judsonjbryan) on instagram. His Evo is ridiculous - he's a really talented artist/graphic designer as well.
A lazy bum like me would never be able to keep something so clean

Re: David's Mitsubishi Evo 6 Import
That is positvely beautiful, I am working on it. The issue is getting everything so clean in the first place. I wish I was able to make awesome parts myself.

Re: David's Mitsubishi Evo 6 Import
So after a lot of polishing and ordering some new red hose my intake looks like this.
Got a Evo 9 dump valve as they are stronger and better quality than the Evo 6 version.
I just need some new jubilee clamps then it is ready to go back onto the car.

Hks intake sold. Something else to replace it coming very soon.
Re: David's Mitsubishi Evo 6 Import
Hopefully get rid of the vibration under braking.
Decided to stick with the standard Brembo pads for the time being. I will consider upgrading to Carbotechs at a later date. I really just want to confirm the disks and pads are the cause of the vibration which i'm 80% sure they are.

Just read this all the way through - I've always been an Impreza man myself but your car is simply stunning. I think they've aged very well.
Hopefully the new brakes do the trick!

Cheers..
I do like the Impreza but I feel they are a little too common really there is something a little bit more special about an Evo.
I will be at JapFest parked in the IMOC section cus you know, if you want to come and have a nosey round.

Check your tyres are still round if car has sat for a long time.My MR2 was vibrating at 65mph plus and when braking it was really bad.Clocked up the discs and they were running true so not the brakes.Put the wheels back on and spun them and the tyres had a big flat spot where it sat it one place for so long.A new set of Yoko's fitted and all is good again.

It only vibrated under braking at speed. Which leads me to believe that it was either the wheel balancing or the braking. I've run my nail down the brake disk and there is undulation on the disk which i believe may have been due to incorrect running in procedure. Soon as I get a decent weather weekend i'll get the car out of the garage and swap all the brakes over. I need to change the brake fluid also.

Cheers lad. been a bit quiet over xmas with the weather and all just collecting bits really.
Re: David's Mitsubishi Evo 6 Import
Need discs and pads..
Well huge amounts of undulation in the driver side disc, you can feel it with your finger there is a large mound in the middle of the disc. It just won't do..
Rear hubs were a bit grotty
Get the caliper out of the way quick clean up of the hub a little bit of surface rust wire wheel sorted that out nicely.
How sexy is that, after much talking to different people I decided to return the the drilled and grooved discs and went with just grooves.
Caliper back on, love how easy it is to do this on the EVO. Just wish the discs stayed black. It'll come off once beaded in.
Just changed the spark plugs as well, next is a brake fluid flush followed by new coolant.
