What needs doing?

Post by metallica fish »

I've got a spare few hours on Friday. I'd like to get some work done on the rev 1 NA but.... And its a pretty big but! I'm not really wanting to spend any money. I'm currently saving for some parts that need replacing and so far I'm doing well. So Friday will be all about elbow grease.

So if you guys were going to do anything... What would it be? No real point spending time detailing / cleaning etc seen as the paint is knackered.

Any thoughts?

Remove and clean throttle body and idle control valve , also worth removing the bulkhead heat shields and checking the brass heater pipe isn't leaking at the joint where it's bolted to the car.

Remove the b pillar interior panels and check the foam has been removed and use the camera on your phone to check what rust is in there

Fold the top corners of boot carpet down and check top corners of firewall for rust.

Dizzy cap off and check/clean the contacts and clean rotor arm contact.
Pull plugs and check condition/gap.

Brake grease the brake caliper sliders.

Detail the interior.

only had the car for a couple of weeks. It is pretty much stock with no history. Also I'm new to Mr2's and working on cars in general. So I'm fishing for known issues (perfect example is the foam in the sills)

It's not on the road and I don't recon it will be for at least 2 years so I need to check everything and do the nitty gitty stuff now while i'm saving for the exciting parts
