Also met another chap, couldn't remember his name, sure he's a member on here. They both were running similar 350/360hp levels.
Even had a run out against the chap with the white one!

White and black panda car is Aaron, don't think he uses the forums much, posts on the FB groups quite often. Bit of a monster hiding in that engine bay, plenty more headroom for more boost!

yeh had a good chat, mentioned he was running a holset turbo, 1.5bar and 360ish hp.
ironing out the setup, then transferring it to a clean shell.

heads up was fun
:eye:

not sure what his best time was on the day

lost all power, afrs went to 10.0s when i had my foot still in it for that split second.
EML light on.
basically pulls timing way back as the sensor is now dead and has no way of monitoring knock.

almost like a fuel cut, which is what i thought it was.

engine off, any revs over 3k rpm, eml light comes on again.

That turbo will comfortably hold 2 bar as well, will be an animal when it gets there!

Sorry to disappoint anyone.

But brand new knock sensor on and all is well, back to its best.

A week sitting showed no oil usage from the weekend before, so super pleased am back in the game. and full power is restored.

New oem rotor arm in while I was at it after a good chat with Paul at tcb parts (who also supplied the brand new knock sensor).

Back down the B roads where it shines

Glad all is well...

Out of interest did you use a pattern knock sensor or a toyota one as a lot of people have had bad results from pattern.

I went genuine for the same reasons.

One Toyota dealer wanted over £220

But I picked up a genuine one from tcb.
£140ish

Thanks
First pull was at actuator pressure, boy does it feel weak at 0.5bar!
Ha.

Didn't take long to crank it back up after I was sure all was well, thankfully

Nice one :thumleft:

We usually scour pick your own junkyards for Camrys or Coronas fitted with the 3SFE as it's the same part number knock sensor.

In the past I've sourced secondhand knock sensors (previous mr2s) with no issues. But thought I'd treat it to a new one.
Plus was a lot easier on my time than digging around and googling/ebay etc.
I wanted it back up and running ASAP just to put my mind at rest.

as regards the blitz ECU they were made for the jap market were they have 100+ octane fuel that is not availalable in the uk, blown knock sensors are common on cars that use these ecu in the uk, after removal of the cylinder head many owners have also noted damaged pistons, if the tvsv is left connected they raise the boost using this system

Jims iirr is in the water/meth club so 115 octane trumps 100 .. pretty surprised its held together this long but thats modding for you :thumleft:

Yep, I'm only going to see my cousin hopefully break 11s with his supra.

My 2 will be parked at home waiting for a replacement alternator

What do a 600hp Supra and a 300hp MR2 have in common?

They both run 12s

What I've witnessed

450hp scoobies doing mid/high 12s
350hp scoobies low 13s
450hp r32 gtrs doing very low 13s
Bolt on 350-400 HP r34 gtrs low 14s!
Bolt on steel turbo r33s high 13s
500hp supra very high 12s running drag radials.
400-450hp gt4s running low 13s (gt30 turbos)

I have a hard time convincing people when they ask I've done a mid 12 with basically bolt ons.
I either get a 'is it a twin turbo, what you doing in that, 14s?', 'saw you run a 12, wanted to know what power'. 300hp doesn't impress anyone, ha.

Quick cars these days are tuned new bmw's with the flappy paddles running slicks. Some of those doing mid 12s. Wouldn't be surprised if some of those are diesels too. Not seen any m series up there to be fair.
The fancy 500hp v8 jag's xkr's doing 12.3s.

R35s or dedicated American muscle I stand no chance.
