a higher rated pump can potentially overwhelm the stock fpr and in turn raise fuel pressure.
more fuel pressure can effectively turn 540 injectors into say 560 injectors which will obviously make things run richer.
though the o2 sensor will correct things under idle and anything under positive boost to an extent.
i however wouldnt have thought it would be enough to bore wash an engine.

Yes .. this should defiantly be on your list of things to do .. check the bov too.
Thanks for the tips guys. How would be best to check the Bov? As you can tell i have not a clue with this sort of thing... although i appear to be learning quickly with all these things going on. ha.

I just use lung power , blow into the inlet , if it leaks atall its not going to hold boost ... make sure to wipe it first dont want oil all round you gob haha

To check your vac lines i would use a footpump , i can post a vid on how to do this .. trust me its a life saver for a £4.50 delivered layout .. vac lines are the bane of my existence
To test vac lines just T in an old boost gauge and you can see if theres any leak better that the pump bull crap gauge .... like i said its just over 3 quid and so helpful for turbo and vac problems if your creative
Just thought I'd post a quick update guys.
Ended up taking the car to luke at Pacific works. Was a huge help and ran some tests on multiple components. The blow of valve is definitely nakered. The Boost was adjusted to take it up to a healthy number so now I just need to get a replacement bov.
Time to get hunting
