Hunter equipment for alignment in Scotland?

Post by dylan5084 »

Any recommendations lads? Just phoned pro grip in Falkirk and apparently if you have coilovers it's too much hassle and not worth his time for him to do it.... Was there 30 mins and charged 80 quid this time last year, 160 quid an hour not a good wage nowadays? Pro grip?? Isn't coilovers a good way to have grip?

Cheers.

Hunter machine is useless if the person using it has no clue. If it's just a straightforward alignment , did you known most Kwik fit use hunter Hawkeye machines, not that I would use them.

I had to get the wheel alignment checked on my 530 Beemer, Rush job just before holiday. Went to a place locally that uses hunter equipment but they said because I didn't have the standard rims on it they couldn't do it. Went to another place down the road who said they could do it. I asked the guy to do the alignment with the engine running as it should be. He didn't, he showed me the results in spec when he'd finished. I then said PLEASE can you start it then check results. Once started it had moved. Still within spec he said. Paid my £30 and left. Now steering wheel is off and at speed on the motorway its very unstable and wants to swap lanes.
Not impressed at all. They did offer me a free re check but you get the feeling it wont be any better next time.
Little trick is to get them in spec, print out the results then tighten everything up. Course its moved by then but the results on the print out look good.
Hard to find someone who gives a s4it what they are doing.

Kenny Brown in Hillington gets good reviews time to time, they do a lot of race prep cars, I wasn't impressed when I took my car there though a few years back.

My mate just took his to a place called Funky Power for a full Geo set up, think I may go there once I've had a go in his if it is well set up.
