At the moment I have 17" × 7jj 205/ 45 /17 but I wanted to see if anyone managed 225 45 17 with 17" + 7.5jj et 25 so it clears my big break kit but I don't think that will fit... was looking at evo oem wheels

Offset is irrelevant for fitting in the front.

I could just about fit a 17x7.5 with a 215/40 in the front. Very tight fit, I had to let some air out to get it past my cusco strut brace though.

I have a 16x8 wheel with 205/45/16 tyre. Fits perfectly.

16" seems to be the best size overall for everything... 17" so many issues rubbing the arches and fitting in the spare wheel front.

Thanks alot for the info guys it helps the only thing is there's not much premium tyre goodyear f1 or semi slicks like r888r that make those size tyres. Most tyres are 225 45 or 215 45 always 45 profile :$

that's the problem these days, trying to find good quality rubber and then getting a wheel to fit it or do you buy the wheels and hope you can fit rubber to them

Yeah.. I wouldn't mind if only 17" with 45 profiles fit on the Mr2... but it doesn't

I have a 7x17 spare with 215/40/17 tyre that fits with my cover and strut brace,



I do find putting a new tyre on the wheel made it a very tight fit in the liner after it fitted easily with a worn tyre

I have the same size spare alloy wheel and tyre but it doesnt clear my calipers so I need et25 or lower :#

Offset won't affect the wheels ability to fit in the frunk, unless the offset is so far negative that the mounting face touches the tie down point on the chassis.

Diameter, width, and tyre size are the only factors that matter.

note taken gazza et doesnt affect front trunk i know this already thanks for the info anyway. just saying my stupid bbk gets in the way and im just trying to solve this issue... need a alloy and tyre that clears my bbk and fits in the front trunk.

at the moment i got 245/35/17 x 9jj et25 at the front and 285/30/18 x 10jj at the rear... I know abit excessive! and none of these wheels fit in the trunk becasue i didnt think about it at the time... dumb ass me

Sorry, misunderstood your post.

If you have a 17x7.5 that clears your brakes, then just put a 215/40 on it. The size of the sidewall on a 215/40 is a fraction of a millimetre taller than a 245/35.

its because it makes the wheel diameter larger so it will rub but 245 35 17 just clear but still touches slightly on full lock but does clear oem liners and arches...

I also have the same issue with BBK but daft question.... What are you going to do with the alloy that has the puncture? Where are you going to store that to drive home after taking it off? Someone on here used the OEM spare but fitted it back to front, I'm sure they'd also modified it in some way but i cannot remember how

What about using a hub centric spacer to clear the brakes?, you could keep your existing wheel.
