Hi Guys
soon I'm having the remainder of the car re-sprayed and have been wanting to delete the Ariel, especially as its broken and no longer works.
However Id like to be able to retain a Ariel for the radio, but of the aftermarket kind ?
Can anyone advise a way of doing this, potentially a BMW style fin wired in ?
I actually have the windscreen with two lines running down the centre that the previous owner said was for the purposes of an Ariel, is this true ?
thanks,
jordan.

Yep the windscreen aerial works quite well too.
I can't remember entirely but I think there is a different plug for the windscreen aerial that should be tucked in behind the stock radio?

the aerial windscreen one is an AM antenna i believe, I don't believe it is very effective at picking up FM frequencies hence the different connector

So how about creating an aftermarket one ?
could a BMW style fin ariel be created on the roof ?

My stock aerial has been removed, and the hole filled, smoothed and painted.
I run a DAB aerial down the passenger side of the windscreen.

I found that digital radio is very patchy.

I happen to run the windscreen aerial on my car. After a lot of searching for a reasonably priced adapter I came across this one

I can report it works very well for me. Good reception with very little drop out.
