Very nice going to be cracking.

Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
cheers Andrew think I may copy you looks good.
Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
Also forgot! Got a Japspeed Exhaust to go on the car - heard another turbo one... they really arent that loud!
Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
I have one and think its stoopid loud, deafening even... Maybe I'm just old.
Where's the one your taking off going?

Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
Androo how much is the cost of the build of the fogged engine is you don't mind me asking. I'm looking into something similar myself at the moment. Not quite as high as yours I'm looking more 300 350bhp

There is no one ser price if you ask me. You can price up the individual items like pistons, turbo and injectors. But you have to sit down and plan with the engine builder you decide to go with.
There is no off the shelf price. What i did was buy the parts over a few months then when ready go the your engine builder. There are lots of unforseen costs. So plan well
Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
Yea that's what I thought but from reading what he posted it's seemed like the chap he went with had given him a build cost
Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
There is an off the shelf price, if you go for standard options....
Since then I've added a lot....but mainly parts being the main cost.
If you drop Pete an email with what you need he will let you know. All I will say is he is very reasonably priced, but more than anything totally genius and honest - something very hard to find! Don't shop about just go with him
I too was only after 300.... but that soon changes. Rods get tempting I'm case you wanna go over 380 (which you will once it's forged...!) Which in turn means you'll want a better pump.....clutch.... turbo.... cooling.... it gets out of control haha
However, to get a rock solid 300hp from the cb20 a rebuild with forged pistons etc is perfect - and saves you another 4 grand in parts etc :lol

I know, I've seen your pile of bits at Pete's.

1.2 bar on a CT20b with Apexi Power FC with over 300bhp makes for an enjoyably quick road car.

Agreed, I pushed a ct20b to it's limits many years ago, not sure if it was hitting 300 bhp but she was quick and loads of fun.
All I can say is that there is a line, a line that before you cross is quick and fun whereas after is fast, dangerous and not so much fun
The later however requires both hands on the steering wheel and creates a bigger smile for the wrong reasons
Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
Thanks chaps I'll have to see what to do. If I go down the forged route I'll have get rid of the bike keep the wife off my case. I can also relate to Martin I'm thinking 300 350 will be enough before being a hazard to myself

Haha most of which I've not even seen first hand - it's gone direct! Makes me forget the cost.... a bit..... sort of.....
Re: Andy's Rev 3 Turbo - Project complete.
Pleased to report some progress with the build now, Pete is really stuck into it now!
Although controversial, i decided for my build that I wanted to go for a rev 2 bottom end build. This reduces the chances of having the 2/3 split in the block occurring from poor casting more often found in the rev 3 blocks.
Courtesy of Mr G himself, here's some build pictures and info to tantalise the tastebuds..... I CANT WAIT!!
Turbo kit turned up nice and clean - td06 20g
Block back from the machine shop.... spotless after being hot washed for 2 days
On a pallet ready for the action
Gaping hole thats left behind... no going back now!
Old ct20b and decat pipe out - hardly used!
