Its finally nice to see that IMOC have canged to a nice BBS style board. They are so much easier to use and look nicer too.
Are we allowed to have sigs and avatars? if so are they any restrictions on these?
cheers

It seems that avatars etc have been disabled for now - the main emphasis is getting it up and running and testing everything, new feature should appear as time goes on according to another thread....

ok cheers for the reply.
Would be nice to have avatars and sigs like. Kinda makes the forum.

Avatars are ok, sigs are just plain crap - they waste sooooo much screen 'real estate' with cruddy pics and inane text as people try to show how 'zany' they are.

are you old?

I think something like:

Boris Moonshine
...is OK but when you get something like this in every post it's very annoying:
Avatars are nice though, they allow someone's personality (or lack of) to shine through

Re: Nice to see IMOC Have gone modern
My vBulletin forum gives members the choice to:
Show user's signatures in their posts?
Show user's avatar in their posts?
Show image attachments and [img] code in Posts?
Selecting no will show a hyperlink instead.
At the very least this allows those who want pictures to see them and those who don't to hide them away in the dungeon of bandwidth?
I'm guess this forum will offer similar features or if not will it allow you to add them? I have the PHP files from my setup if anyone wants a copy to hack up and see if anything is useful?

There does but people always seem to like to push it If you limit the filesize someone will go for a massive low quality pic, if you limit actual size they make it flash and spin around in an annoying way... or they just include something that they find really amusing and everyone else finds lame
how are yours working or did you just create it in your post?
They are just inserted with the IMG tag, this opens up another problem as you can just include this in every post to get around it......

thought so.
Should have file size and amount of text lines for the sig's
this seems to work on other forums.

Michael, I think there's a problem with the calibration.....
Sorry, it was so tempting

wow, so much better now - it's like a normal forum
Re: Nice to see IMOC Have gone modern
I suspect that the use of avatars and sigs will be restricted to people who pay a subscription. They need to find a way to pay for this speedy new hosting!
Out of interest how much would people be willing to pay to gain access to some of the more advanced features of the board?

I guess it depends how advanced the features are
