O2 Sensor Unplugged

Post by mr299ron »

The O2 sensor (not the end at the downpipe is unplugged and I cannot see/find out where in the fudge it plumbs into. I've tried looking online, but I cannot find where it needs to go.

Being a noob, but can someone help in where the sensor end goes?

Someone may correct me, but if it's similar to a Rev 3, the O2 sensor is called the lambda sensor too I think and it connects just behind down below the hard pipe from intercooler.

sounds like its the cat heat sensor, not needed. the O2 sensor is at the top of the downpipe and does need to be plugged in.

The O2/Lambda sensor is bolted in at the top of the downpipe by two bolts, so I would say that's the lambda sensor. Just cant see where to put the sensor

There is a plug that comes out of the loom that sits on top of the upper timing cover that goes below the intercooler hard pipe. Or at least that is where it is on mine (rev 3). Not sure if it's different for a rev 2

Does anyone know where you can by the single wire oxygen sensors from, for Rev 1 and 2? I can only find the 4 wire sensors.

For a 92 Turbo? The cheapest option would be to buy a Denso oxygen sensor, they manufacturer OEM parts for Toyota. I think the part number you need is Denso 234-4156 but double check with the seller before buying.

If you put your car details in here it brings up the part number http://densoautoparts.com/find-my-part/ ... -selection

This is the Toyota part number so you can check the Denso part number is compatible.

Thanks Nic for the heads up, but I can't find anywhere that sells oxygen sensors for a 92 rev 2. MR2 Ben only has 94 onwards for the 3SGTE.

Try contacting Trevor at TCB ([email protected]) he should be able to supply you with either the Toyota or Denso O2 sensor.

I gave TCB a call and spoke to a guy called Paul. Absolute legend, helped me out a treat and had a good chat about mr2s and celicas.

£70 for a single wire sensor.

Very happy, highly recommended.

Can't for the life of me see where the sensor plugs into on the car. There is a wiring loom at the top of the cam timing cover, but something is already plugged into it? Is that the cat heat sensor maybe? Would appreciate the help as I'm being a retard
