What Rev is my 1994 Turbo Jap Import? And what oil?

Just bought a 1994 Jap import turbo Mr2 Gts, can someone inform me as to what Rev is it? What model does "SW20" refer to, is mine an SW20?

And also, what oil should or is recommended for this car? And how many liters of coolant does it hold as I want to flush the system.

Is there a "How To" section on this forum with DIY articles?

Rev 3 for a 1994. Try Opie Oils (opieoils.co.uk), very knowledgable, good service and prices

Try the Knowledge Base (top right) for how to's and guides. Most quoted capacities for the coolant on a tubby is 7.5 litres.

1994 is Revision 3.

I use Castrol Magnatec 10W-40 in mine which seems to do the job. Not sure how many litres of coolant it takes exactly but you could probably find that info on Google.

My guess would be rev3, but need to see pics of exterior, interior and engine bay to be sure.

I once saw a Rev 2 on an M reg. Dunno how they managed that!

As everyone else has said, it's most likely to be a rev 3. But if you want to be absolutely certain check the VIN plate. You'll find this riveted to the front bulkhead in the frunk.

You can then identify your exact model by entering your VIN on the ToyoDIY website using the following link:

It's also a useful site for obtaining part numbers.

It's strange as you see L reg Rev3 too. Maybe a new car that got registered late or DVLA messed up registering an import?

1994 is Rev 3.

December 93 was the change from rev2 to rev 3 if memory serves.

assuming that 1994 build date is taken from the VIN, and NOTHING else, then itll be a rev3.

BUT, you need to confirm your VIN as per a previous post.

there are plenty of imports out there registered with the wrong plates, (year or 2 out).
