[Mk2] [Turbo] Aeroware lip with stock body?

Post by craig »

I'm getting bored of my Border bodykit.

I quite fancy putting a stock JDM rear bumper on the car, stock side vents and removing my Border skirts.

However, I love the Aeroware lip, it's a perfect fit, good quality and is polyurethane.

Question is, does the Aeroware lip fit in with no side skirts? I've seen a few MR2s running like this. A few examples:

Not forgetting my car is black, so will blend in better....

I personally think it looks great. Thanks for any input :thumleft:

As someone who has a black mr2 with an aeroware lip i'm gonna say it looks odd without skirts. The larger lip doesnt match the lines of the rest of the car.

I've got rookie skirts on mine which arent too flashy looking, but they fill out the rest of the car with the larger lip.

Not really for me,.... the balance just looks off, the front wheel arch looks like it stops early at the point where it meets the sill.

I like that lip with greddy skirts.

Ultimately in the end its your car your choice go with what you like.

The extended lip doesn't sit well without lowered skirts to match it imo, tried it on mine and I'm not fitting until / (if) I do bolt skirts on :thumleft:

Thanks for the input gents, I'll leave the car as it is.

The first picture doesn't look to out of place, but it does have some small skirt extensions from under the car. Also the lower ride height helps visually but massively impractical. Just my 50p.

Didn't notice the lil side skirts on there at first, but yeah, the stupidly low suspension assists the visuals some what.

Not for next year, I'm saving them for when I start playing with a flat floor- I wanted to reduce the road to floor distance as much as possible as part of the design.

Got the Greddy side skirts, and a Toms rear bumper...no spats (yet).

Got offered some carbon fiber composite sheeting that might work, dread to think how much it must have cost though.
