My car was up on the ramp last night waiting for the engine to be dropped in, So i grabbed some under car pictures. Its was a lot cleaner than the pictures look. Also photo of my mileage reading.

They were held up all day waiting for the inner drive shaft seal to turn up.

Hopefully it should be ready for its first turn over tonight.

The engine is in and the also running like a peach, found 2 issues that need addressing, Inner CV joint n/s is totally hammered, also need to grab gearbox oil seal (o/s)

Have managed to get hold of a inner CV joint, after a morning of ringing about getting nowhere. so pain over.

engines back in :-

Got back off my holidays yesterday. car is idling fine, bit of a niggle somewhere, cars not responding to throttle (not wanting to rev up) I'm hoping its going to be sorted out by tomorrow so I can start running it in. There just checking the loom today & throttle sensors.

Im going to give him a ring to see if he has found what the problem is yet. They do have a spare tps sensor down there. fingers crossed that's the problem or something plugged in wrong.

They still there still working out what's causing the throttle issue. They have said its revving a little now. Said its idles perfectly, it will not response to WOT, just struggling to climb to 2000 rpm cant get it over that.

said hes getting the multimeter out this afternoon, going to start testing a couple of sensors and loom wires

on a slightly different note, I need to buy a replacement exhaust boss for my wideband sensor (AEM) anyone know where to get one of these from?

Also got the KO Racing R1 exhaust installed which came from juliankv73 looks sick and also sounds it.

Still have the same problem. still not reving up.

Car idles fine 850rpm on the nail. still getting no response from the throttle. Ive been down to see them and this is what they have told me the problem is.

VTA2 - TPS RED/Blue on the diagram there working to. On the loom its going to a green/red wire. This is leading to an unused plug which is a 4 pin. The unused plug is located the opposite side of the throttle to the TPS. Also this does not have much length

VC - Sensor Power Source Red/purple on Diagram. but is Red/Blue on the loom and this is going to the 4pin connector which is connected to the tps.

Both of the above are on the ECU "B" connector

They have tested every part of the loom and confirm that every other pin is correct and is going to the correct plugs on the diagram there working to.

Just to recap its a gen2 engine that's had a gen3 loom, ecu, injectors + other sensors required to complete this conversion.
.
Anyone got any ideas where this is going wrong?

I think ive found the answer to my question after smashing google hard, I think its IDL2 goes to E2 and VTA2 goes to VC. but im not 100% sure.

Found the problem, The ecu provided in my gen3 conversion package was actually a gen2 & its was also faulty (now fixed)

so im on the hunt for a gen3 ecu. anyone know anyone selling one? dont really wanna mod this loom to work with a gen2 ecu & pull out the larger injectors.
