[Mk2] [NA] n/a clutch install costs

Post by aussieGT »

Clutch on my n/a is riding pretty high, what sort of costs am I looking at having a new one installed?

I'm in Stoke but happy enough to travel a reasonable distance for a specialist - or a mech close who is familiar enough with 2's.

(Sorry if this is a regular Q, did a search and didn't come up with much)

labour wise 150-200 quid id have thought, YVS performance in north Yorkshire are well known round here i wouldn't get work done anywhere else to be honest.
Each to their own but i would wait until it starts slipping before i swapped it.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah its not slipping at all (yet) but its only engaging right up high on the pedal. Maybe it's the clutch master or slave on the way out.

Clutch pedal adjustment

Post by mr2matt »

Hi there,

Mine was the same but there is some adjustment on the clevis block that connects to the clutch pedal itself, do a search regarding this subject as you might be able to wind in the adjustment to bring the bite point back down, usually it's wound out to get the bite point higher after installing a new clutch then as the clutch wears over time I find it helps to wind it in a bit.

Mine was engaging very low until I had it adjusted. Much nicer to drive after it.

If it isn't slipping, that's all that may be needed
