Thnx

That's not a Super Edition.

It's a Special Edition. Slightly different from memory; no Recaro Milano seats or Momo gear knob and steering wheel and polished tear drop wheels. The Super Editions were pretty much the end of line AW11. This car is from 1988. I *think* most Supers were back end of '89 and are generally on F plates in the UK. I recall there were 5 in the UK at one point, although I know of one which was turned into a 1.5. I do know of 2 that are certainly still in existence over here though.

Disclaimer!!! I write this only from old memories though. So I'm more than happy to be corrected. [thumleft]

Yep. Only after I typed my reply. That's why I added the disclaimer.

Supers were only built in 1989. I've just double checked this elsewhere ;-) and still stand by my post.

A Special Edition is still a rare car though. :thumleft:

Dude! 300 white over gold Super Edition's in 1988, 270 Midnight Blue Super Editions in 1989 (with Recaro's and a couple of the 1989 G-Ltd additions like mirrors, brake light etc). If you zoom in on the dealer advert it clearly has Super Edition decals :) I've found so much misinformation in the past couple of months since going for looking one, so it's good to put these things to bed.

The dealer one looks okay though unfortunately missing some SE gear. Trouble with dealers is that quite often they buy grade R/RA cars (accident damaged) and then punt them back out as minters. Quite expensive too.

Cheers,
Jon

Your knowledge is clearly more up to date than mine!

As said, I have no issues with being corrected. :thumleft:

Hope the car you bought arrives in one piece and is as described - it can be a long wait! :thumleft:

Cheers, and yep, a long wait. I seem to remember we have met once (JZA70?) so don't be too hard on me

You can of course get a white over silver SE, but it differs in spec from the last run of midnight blue cars and lacks the Recaro interior being the main thing.

I'm not sure how many white over silver SE's were made does anyone know?

There were 273 midnight blue cars made.
