[Mk2] [Turbo] Cone air filter replacement
Looking to replace the ancient Apexi super intake filter on my turbo and just wondered if anyone had any good recommendations?

That's a quality filter. Why not just clean it?
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Cone air filter replacement
Well that was my initial thought but after some googling jts apparently a dry filter and should never be cleaned?

Thanks for the link mad, looking at it I would of thought it was too far gone oily/grime but probably no worse than the one in that link so ill give it a go, thanks.

I bought mine from http://www.nengun.com/apexi/power-intak ... nd-adapter
Ordered two at once, so covered for a while. Did not get clobbered with duty either, which was a bonus.

i bought a new one from http://www.driftworks.com/apexi-induction-kit.html dont know if a turbo one is different but it was a match for me N\A. bit pricey but there is lots of fakes out there! quick delivery too as its UK based
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Cone air filter replacement
Got the filter off the other day and it was pretty bogging, also had some damage to the mesh part
hot water and washing up liquid wasn't really doing much so I tried the soda water vanish trick, after two soaks it came up like this
much better but I will still order a replacement due to the damage on it. It seems the "super intake" style is no longer sold but the traditional cone style Apexi's can be had for $95 out here (about £43!).

Completely agree. A dodgy one will either compromise performance/economy and cost you more i the long run or it will let unwanted particles into your engine and that doesn't bear thinking about.tiff_lee wrote:much better but I will still order a replacement due to the damage on it.
For less than £50 a new replacement is a no-brainer.
