Hi,
I compression tested the engine today since the head has been rebuilt.
Cylinders 2, 3 & 4 155-160
Cylinder 1 was 125-130 psi - with a drop of oil it brought it back up to 155 psi
Also, the cambelt wants to work itself off of the cam pulleys - any ideas?

Adding oil and results increasing indicates rings, next step would be a leak down test to pinpoint the leak for definate

Re: Compression test since head rebuild
Seems a faulty reading on the compression tester was the issue.
As they are all at 160-170 now.

Re: Compression test since head rebuild
The compression tester probably wasn't quite seated properly or something. If you were able to produce a repeatable 160-170 across all 4 then you're all good
Re: Compression test since head rebuild
I had a similar problem
My old tester is one with a rubber cone
I now have a new tester which screws into the sparkplug hole
Much better

Re: Compression test since head rebuild
I have the one that screws into the hole as well Peter.
Must have been some crap in the plughole thread.
Still made me want to cry though the first time around.
