mk2 turbo rear shock weird movement.

Ok so been tracking a knocking noise for quite some time now and cant figure out what it is. Have changed bearings etc in the rear.

However, today i had a poke around and when i pull the top of the rear wheel outwards i have a bit of play somewhere and its knocking. I am convinced its the shock absorber and think its sideways movement between the shock body and the piston but im also not ruling out top mount either.

Anyone able to shed some light on it?

Not unusual on old shock. Time to replace (as a rear pair).

Yeah they are originals by the looks of it. Will probably just buy 4 new shocks or coilovers

Go for coilovers, means you get new springs and top mounts aswell
