[Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 Turbo.
Whilst taking my car for a wheel alignment I found that I had quite an oil leak from the engine somewhere. I've ordered a cam cover gasket and a distributor O ring and some allen key cam cover bolts from MR2 Ben in order to properly torqe the cover down. Can anyone advise on the correct torque setting for the camcover bolts and the correct sequence of tightening. Also, what silicone seal would be best to use and do I need to apply silicone seal to both sides of the new gasket? I want to cure this oil leak once and for all, are there any other places where the oi could be leaking from? Thanks guys.
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 Turbo.
it's literally hand tight 8-10nm, be careful as easy to over tighten due to the rubber washers.
sealant only on the three end caps, rtv/oil resistant sealant.

Cheers and thanks for the reply. Do I need to apply the sealant on both sides of the new gasket?
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 Turbo.
No sealant on the gasket just in the corners of the bearing caps, if you click on the link it shows you where it is needed

Thanks, much appreciated.

Did it today, hope it works, took my time and did the Distributor O ring as well, the old one had a flattened profile.
Picking up my refurbished wheels tomorrow.
